Syllabus Driven Emphasis on Foundational Skills

This syllabus-driven art coaching program offers a comprehensive approach to developing artistic skills, focusing on core areas such as drawing, shading, painting, and color theory. The curriculum is designed to provide a structured understanding of shapes, proportions, and composition, ensuring students grasp the essentials of visual art. Emphasis is placed on mastering tool usage, from pencils and brushes to advanced art mediums, enabling students to explore a variety of techniques with confidence. The journey begins with creating freehand and ruler-based lines to build control and precision, gradually evolving into more sophisticated skills like shading, perspective drawing, and portrait-making. A key highlight of the program is the progression from one-stroke painting—an elegant and efficient method for beginners—to more traditional and intricate painting methodologies. This gradual transition helps students develop precision, control, and versatility, fostering a deeper appreciation for diverse artistic styles. Through methodical lessons and guided practice, the program ensures steady progress, making it ideal for individuals aiming to build a strong artistic foundation while unlocking their creative potential.

By iterating on their work and applying suggestions, students enhance their technical expertise and artistic expression. This dynamic cycle of practice and evaluation creates a supportive learning environment where creativity and growth thrive.

Informal Personalized Training

The class offers personalized instruction, allowing students to learn at a pace that best suits their individual needs and ensures effective skill development. Tailored exercises are designed to align with each student’s interests and skill level, taking into account their age and artistic goals. Younger students focus on foundational skills such as drawing and sketching, building confidence and control through engaging activities. Older students, meanwhile, have the option to explore painting and advanced techniques, delving deeper into areas like color blending, texture creation, and complex compositions. This flexible and customized approach creates a supportive environment where students of all ages can thrive creatively and achieve their artistic potential.

Student Achievement

Students achieve remarkable success both academically and in competitive arenas. As their skills improve through personalized guidance and consistent practice, students often see noticeable enhancements in their school art projects, earning praise from teachers and peers. Many participants also excel in art competitions, showcasing their talent and dedication on larger platforms. From local contests to prestigious state-level competitions, students regularly win awards and recognition, a testament to their hard work and the program’s effective teaching methods. These achievements not only validate their artistic growth but also boost their confidence, inspiring them to pursue even greater creative challenges.

Understanding the basics of Portrait making

Portraits are one of the toughest subjects to tackle in art. There are various ways to do it and we explore a few ways in class.

Working with colored pencil

Often the power of colored pencils is underestimated. I love teaching students how to get the best from this medium. The tiger is one of the most popular assignments in class.

Learning at your own pace

Here two students are doing the same painting but took different times to finish but the goal is trying to get the concept right rather than keeping pace with another student. Every student learns at their own pace in regular classes.

Summer camps

Summer camps are more strict on time lines and the aim is to try and cover the topics being taught while students practice more after the camp is over. This format is ideal for students wanting to try out new things and deciding if they would want to learn something in depth

One Stroke Painting

I am a certified Ones stroke painting teacher and one of my favorite things to teach is Stroke work, a style that allows student complete a petal or leaf in one stroke. It is great way to get a foot hold into brush control, blending and I use this method to teach them various other painting concepts. After going through the course . Students are able to make quick petals and flowers and can start painting fun things on their own.
